High security laboratory for highly infectious biosamples

ORF TV report (24 June 2020)

High security laboratory for working with and biobanking of highly infectious material

ORF TV gaves insight into the unique laboratory infrastructure at BBMRI.at partner Medical University of Graz, which works with pathogens like the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The high security laboratory at the Diagnostic- and Research Institute of Pathology at the Medical University of Graz is unique in Austria. Scientists from the institute are conducting research with pathogens such as the corona virus Sars-Cov-2. In addition to the work with viruses, also autopsies and biobanking of infectious material are performed.

The ORF visited the laboratory for filming, interviewed head of the BSL-3 laboratory Prof. Kurt Zatloukal and gives exciting insights.
