BBMRI-ERIC pays tribute to Gert-Jan van Ommen

1947-2020

With the passing of Professor Gert-Jan van Ommen on 7 November 2020, the biobanking community lost a passionate member and excellent scientist.

 

Gert-Jan van Ommen has been one of the driving forces behind the preparation of BBMRI right from the beginning and very much committed to European harmonisation, standardisation, and integration of both science and policy visions. The BBMRI community will miss him.
